Band 9 Model Answer to Describe a time when you had to walk barefoot IELTS Cue Card

I had to walk barefoot a few years ago during a trip to the beach with some friends. It was a hot summer day in July, and we had spent the morning swimming and lounging on the sand.

I had forgotten to bring a pair of sandals with me, so when it was time to leave, I had to walk barefoot along the hot, sandy path back to our car. It was a bit of a painful experience, as the ground was scorching and my feet were not used to walking on such rough terrain without any protection.

Despite the discomfort, I didn’t really have a choice but to walk barefoot, as I had no other footwear with me. I tried to avoid stepping on any sharp objects or hot surfaces as much as possible, and I did my best to keep up with my friends as we made our way back to the car.

Eventually, we made it back to the car, and I was able to put on a pair of shoes and drive home. It was definitely a memorable experience, and I learned to always make sure I have a pair of sandals with me when I go to the beach!

  1. Have you ever walked barefoot in a public place before?
    • No, I haven’t walked barefoot in a public place before. The only time I’ve walked barefoot was on the beach, as I mentioned in my previous answer.
  2. Do you think it’s acceptable to walk barefoot in public places? Why or why not?
    • Personally, I don’t think it’s always appropriate to walk barefoot in public places. While it might be comfortable for the person who is barefoot, it might not be considerate of others who might be bothered by seeing bare feet in a public setting. In addition, there might be health and hygiene concerns to consider.
  3. Have you ever experienced any injuries or discomfort while walking barefoot?
    • Yes, I did experience some discomfort and minor injuries while walking barefoot on the beach. The ground was hot and rough, and I ended up with a few small cuts and blisters on my feet.

    • Some people believe that walking barefoot can have certain health benefits, such as improving balance and strengthening the muscles in the feet. However, it’s also important to consider the potential risks, such as stepping on sharp objects or dirty surfaces, which can lead to injuries or infections.
