IELTS Vocabulary Builder book series is written to help those who are looking to improve their vocabulary for the Reading test in IELTS. The book is written based on The Official Cambridge Guide to IELTS series of Cambridge University Press – UK.

3 Reasons why you should learn VOCABULARY from this book Series

  1. No more wasting time looking up words Academic words in the book are accompanied by explanations or synonyms. You save a lot of time typing each word into the dictionary and looking up. Surely those of you who are “not very diligent in looking up vocabulary” will like this.
  2. Focus memory on important words Although the book does not look up all the words for you, it has selected the most important and common words for you. That way, you can focus your memory on these words, instead of having to go through the trouble of remembering unimportant words. Anyone who has a Reading score of 7.0 or higher will find many of these words very familiar
  3. Learn a word, remember many words Many words are presented under synonyms (synonyms), so that you can review and learn more words that have the same or similar meanings as the original word. It can be said that this is a very effective learning method because when you learn a word like impact, you can recall or learn a series of equivalent words such as significant, vital, imperative, chief, key. In other words, if your memorization is good, this book will help you increase your vocabulary significantly.

How to use IELTS vocabulary builder book series?

In general, you need to have a vocabulary level equivalent to 5.5 or higher (according to the IELTS scale of 9), otherwise it may be difficult to use this book.

Option 1: TEST FIRST, LEARN VOCABULARY LAST

Step 1: Print this book out. The book is designed for direct reading, not for online reading, so anyone reading online may find it quite inconvenient to look up and compare vocabulary. Step 2: Find and buy Cambridge IELTS (latest books from 8-16) of Cambridge Publishing House to do. Be careful not to buy pirated books by mistake. Step 3: Do any test or passage in the above book series. For example passage 1, test 1 of Cambridge IELTS 17. Step 4: Compare with this book, you will filter out important vocabulary to learn.

Option 2: LEARN VOCABULARY FIRST, READ TEST AFTER

Step 1: Download and print this book out. Step 2: Read the vocabularies like reading a newspaper. Maintain daily. When you do not understand a word, see the meaning or synonym of that word. This stage helps you develop natural reading, instead of reading as a test. The more you understand, the better. Try to remember words in context. Step 3: Take any test or passage in the Cambridge IELTS book series. For example, if you finish reading the free version of IELTS Vocabulary Builder book series, you can go back to and take the relevant IELTS test. After doing the test, try to detect the words learned. Those who have good memorization will surely encounter many learned words again. Those who have a moderate ability to memorize will also encounter many words again.
