IELTS 7 band essay sample answer

It is irrefutable fact that every person nurtures an innate desire of looking good and accepted in the socioeconomic circle. Fashion has been cherished by humans since the ancient times but has undergone changes with time. Nowadays, wearing traditional attires suggests that culture is lagging behind because youth has embraced a distinct fashion to associate itself with a certain social group. I side with those think that this is a positive sign of development.

To begin with it is often said that “Change Is the Spice of Life”, hence the way of dressing should change, which is necessary to keep life interesting because in my view people do not neglect their own cultural identity by wearing clothes which are similar but instead they express their appreciation for what ever looks good on them whether it relates to their culture or not. For example wearing jeans is universally popular, though they first originated in western countries but people in every country wear them because they are comfortable and they look good on the wearer and in doing so they can not be said to neglecting their culture.

Furthermore, in the present day scenario, dressing does not necessarily mean glamour, or the urge to follow the current trends rather I think It’s a way of life and a reflection of inner beauty since its innate desire of every one to look and feel good and clothes are important aspect in fulfilling of this wish such as wearing a nice dress or clothes which are popular world wide would take one closer to their desire of looking good and beautiful.

Yet another charm of present day outfits is that they are inexpensive and faster to put on than traditional dress as this aspect is extremely important and vital to keep up with the fast pace of life where time is precious for instance in Indian culture wearing traditional Saree is time consuming while modern dresses could be worn in fraction of the time it takes one to wear saree.

To cap it all, despite traditional costumes being less frequently worn, I strongly believe that new trend of similar clothing brings people closer and with less prejudice against origin and status of other civilizations which is good development for uniting the complete humanity on our planet.
